Hi & many thanks for thbe reply's.

Not being ble to use a digital line is a real shame, has i use a voib system @ work -adding a second line costs pennies and require no installation.

My voib phone system as fax mode (No caller display or answer phone) works like a simple dial out but digital.

Technology a step backwards i agree, my credit card machine wasn't compatible on this system either.

Thx Dave

It can also upset some dial up systems if there's a message left on your answerphone (1571) as it changes the dial tone and upsets the modem. Digital lines are also supposed to be a no-no. The joys of modern technology meets something from the stone age. Sadly there's no prospect of a broadband connection to the central server as they can't ensure its security.

Hi

The phone line is the responsability of the garage / AE.  You need a BT line which can be either your exsisting phone line or a seperate dedicated line for MOT use. Note that you can not use a broadband enabled line or one with caller ID.

I asked BT to add a seperate line for my MOT computer and it was done in abut a week.   Also remember that if the MOT computer is dialling out to VOSA the line is then in use and any customers who are calling you get an engaged tone.  Thats why I had a new line installed.

Hi guys.

Who's reponsible for installing or supplying the dial out connection from the VTS device?

Also: What type of connections are acceptable? "VOB"?

Thx Dave.
