| Don't make the mistake I did with my ATL and tried to demonstrate without an assistant, I found the VOSA video really useful which does the test demonstration.

I did one last year. Get some practice in first, my test started out badly. First of all the VSI didn't print on the VT40, having encountered this previously I was able to demonstrate that I could look the important bits on information (ABS light sequence and RBT weights) up on the wallcharts.
Then the emissions machine engine speed measuring device malfunctioned, so I had to restart that, bypassing the speed measurement. By this time I was pretty much resigned to failing, so I took stock of the situation, relaxed and got on with it. Listening to the VE, taking on board what he was saying and explaining my thought processes as to what I was looking out for when examining a particular item.
I think that it's best that the test car does have some faults, whether they are a fail or an advisory as it gives you scope to demonstrate that you can make a pass/fail decision according to the testers manual.
I can't recall the exact questions, though they must have been relatively straight forward, it may even be permitted to say that you don't know, but I know where to find the answer.

hi, and welcome to the forum.
the procedure is that you conduct a full MOT TEST, practical and computerization whilst being watched by a VOSA VE and at the end of the test you will be asked some questions based on the MOT TEST. the VE will then tell you if you will be authorized to conduct MOT's and if you pass you will then be an NT (nominated tester). have a look at this link it will explain in more detail. http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/htdocs/tgx06000106.htm

| Is there anyone who attended this demonstration test recently. I wanted to know the procedure and possible question they put?
