when you load the disc it asks for a code.

You have to ring the manufacturer and they give you the code, which is specific to your machine and the disc sent to you.

I agree it's an outrageous price .

I did not have to use use the disc at all this year.

Is it possible to group togeather with another mot testing station or stations and share the updates thus reducing the cost.
