Why is there confusion
Sn 9:2011 asks us it include all items into our TEST ROUTINE, but we cannot fail any of the items in Annex B of the Sn. So I have Annex B alongside comp. and I can fail everything that I can in the manual, except what is listed in Annex B until we are given a date. Up until that date I will have to manually advise, for the Annex B items are not on comp.
This is what the front page of SN9:2011 tells us to do and having taken a step back and taken onboard what it says it makes sense and is "SIMPLES"

With regard to the new EU Testable Items, we have now been notified that all items which have a Reason for Refusal on the computer SHOULD BE CHECKED for the MOT inspection and failed if necessary using the RFR on the computer.
where does one find this information, or are the SN misleading us? confused now lol.

depressing aint it?thought battery insecure was a failure but even tho its listed as such in the guide(along with everything else)it aint on the computer even as an advisory.if we are supposed to pass/fail/advise these items why aint they on there?dropping this s**te on us with no training/prior warning etc?yes you could have looked it up on the website but in common with many others we aint got internet access at work and i aint spending my evenings at home looking up stuff that should be available to me as a tester BEFORE the public etc have 3 mnths of looking at it as opposed to after.why are sns and s**te like our current additional burden released to every man and their dog a couple of months before the poor bastards that actually have to enforce them get a look in?surely it shud be the other way round.

Come on VOSA - sort it out! – peoples' livelihoods depend on this, not to mention road safety.

Yup - a good start to 2012. There seems to be confusion even among VEs, so we're not commenting any further.
Errmm - that will be because VOSA dropped a clanger & haven't rolled out any training on the new items to half of it's VE's yet !!!!
