"Car had new Cat & Lambda in Nov 09 to pass test."

So why another MOT test only 3-4 months later?

If poor quality aftermarket parts were fitted this wouldn't surprise me at all, they often only just squeeze through one test.

Should be under guarantee though?

I have a 1996 Mercedes C180, failed mot & retest on emmissions, co2 high.

Eng Oil Temp = 84C

1ST MOT

Fast Idle Test

CO level =0.76 - fail

HC level = 115 - pass

Lambda = 1.022 - pass

Second Fast Idle Test

CO level = 0.66 - fail

HC level = 115 ppm - pass

Lambda = 1.018 - pass

Natural Idle Test

CO level 0.50 - pass

After changing Air filter, plugs and adding injector cleaner,
a good run before arriving at garage, it failed on retest

CO level =0.53 - fail

HC level = 115 - pass

Lambda = 1.018 - pass

Car had new Cat & Lambda in Nov 09 to pass test.

any ideas
