No slant intended Davey - I happen not to believe that VOSA 'play games' - and there's a lot more to it than just 'snooping around MOT centres'    ;)

Sorry if I hit a nerve matey, it wasn't my intention. So I'll offer up my apologies and bow out.

Hi Stealth, you appear to be putting your own slant on what I actually said. If you read what you have quoted then you will note that my post is neutral and nowhere does it even remotely infer that there is no place for VOSA. I simply stated that I am not aware of how investigations are conducted, given that I am not in the trade.

I did state that the job would not exactly be my cup of tea, but again I fail to see how this can be interpreted as me saying their is no role for VOSA?

I have no idea of the games VOSA play with you guys and have only viewed the 23 odd pages of the Pass & Fail forum since joining a few days ago, before that I would have never even known what role VOSA played or even who they were.
Personally, I could not think of any job that could be more soul destroying then snooping around MOT test centers

Would you prefer if there was no-one around to weed out the bad guys & stop unsuspecting members of the public from being ripped off ???:?

Possibly Wes, but I very much doubt it since this is close-knit Scottish coastal community where everybody knows everybody.

But even if he did think I was a plant , then why go through the motions of a full test?

I'm not knocking the guy as he has to cover his ass but am asking questions out of interest. Although, I might take the pizz out of him him on the next MOT ;)

I agree KevG, but this was a full on tappy hammer, lights, horn, suspension, visual inspection etc... Repeat of the day before.

His time I guess, but also mine :D

First test 45 min
Retest 35 min

Was starting to wonder if he was going to fail me for something that he passed 18 hours earlier

Out of interest, where do you think I would have stood on appeal, subject to it not being something minor like a bulb just going?

Also is there somewhere in preferences that allows me to read the first post at the top and any replies below that?

maybye he thought you were a plant?:?:P

Yep, just seen on the WowBB user guide that it's a site wide admin toggle. Thanks for the reply and putting together a useful forum.

More out of curiosity than anything else.

Failed on brake pipe and repeaters showing to much white - No dramas, did the work in an hour and returned but unable to fit me in till the next day. I thought it would be a case of check the repeaters then make sure sufficient fluid, no leaks at the unions and test on the rollers.

This guy did the full inspection again save for emissions, which seemed a bit odd.

I was charged half the original fee and clearly replacing a pipe is not going to fall within a free test but thought that a retest was just to check the remedied problems?
