L/R Disco 1998-2002

switch ignition on, Warning Lamp illuminates and then goes out after approximately one second. Start Engine. Drive Vehicle forward. Warning lamp goes out when a speed of 5mph is reached.

hi, just a quick one,

took my D2 in for the MOT the other day , is a 99 on a v

not the thing is it failed on the hedlights (dazzleing other drivers???)

but the one for me was the ABS light, it failed because it dose NOT ilimante on ing or start up, but the sytem is working as it can be heard clicking away,

i have be told by a freind of mine on a discovery forum that on the D2 it dose not have to ilimanate,

the only time it will come on is after a repair of a hub (sensor etc ) then it will re-set, after a speed of 6mph if all is fine, and it did,

can any one confirm??

thanks,

headlamp dazzling other drivers is what has to be used on the system if there is a fault with the image pattern of the light , can often be something as simple as a bulb retaining clip come loose .
ABS warning lamp should follow a sequence which is usually either illuminate & then go out after 1 - 5 seconds , or illuminate & then go out at speed of over 5 mph .
so if the ABS warning lamp isn't coming on at all then the failure is correct .
