I personally would of just adjusted the headlights if that is all it failed on to make then ok. But the tester is not allowed to touch the adjustment switch it has to tested as presented . But by the sound of it the mot station will not listen to any kind of reasoning. They can unfortunately charge what they want ( providing people will pay them) for repairs

took my car today for the mot i choose the cheapest mot garage and cant belive what they said,
They failed my car on no nearside fullbeam but assoon as he said to me i tried the fullbeam when the car was still in the bay and they worked fine the tester said i must have a doggey bulb but no matter what i did the bulb work fine Then the tester went into my car and turned my headlight setting to the max and said my lights are a little bit high so had to fail it.
he said if i paid £36 + vat to adjust the headlights and he had to find a price for a new headlight bulb and the cost of fitting it he could pass it.
what should i do?
