Just finished my course today and the first part was very easy having been a tester before just common knowledge.

pass rate is 80% 20 questions

However the second part was harder as I've never used or seen anybody use a vts computer before but all the answers are there you just know how/where to look for them.

Pass rate is 75% same again 20 questions

I'm in the same boat. I'm in the process of fitting new station and is been over 7 years since I last tested. I couldn't find my old scotvec certificates but I found a SVQ from 2001 although I didn't have certificate I sent copy of record of achievement (alltough they say not to send record only certificates), It looks like I haven't got to sit test as I have to go on 3 day course at end of month.

I think it says you may have to sit test.

maybe they look at your application and take into account you history/experience

i.e are you appling because you were supended

Hi everyone i am considering moving back into testing after being away from the trade for 5 or 6 years.

Its seems like an eternity in terms of technology and the mot regulations in fact the last test i did was about a week before the computerisation went full scale in our area.

As i  understand it i will need to do the full training all over again is this correct.?

Does this mean also the dreaded multiple question test...again.!

Thank You.
