I would argue the bush down to 20 points and the shockers down to 0 or maybe 5 each using 8.2 b3 and b6 b or c

Sorry - 15 days to enter a response. As the AE they are giving me 30 points for the missed bush. They have quoted appendix 8.2 of the testing guide for this and 10 points for each shocker hence 50 points. I note that VOSA in their leter to the NT also talk about 50 points for him but mention a 10 point credit. Not sure what that is for or means.

You say 15 days to appeal, is it not to submit your reps? Where are the points from 20 for missing a bush? Where are the 30 from, how have they coming up with that figure. Two fails the ve does not agree with should not be 50 they can be as little as 0 points each, 5 points or 10 read your guide and it will tell you. Then use what you think based on what the guide says to suggest what in your opinion the sanction should be.

My NT tested a vehicle a few weeks back and then within an hour a VOSA inspector arrived and retested the car The NT missed play in the rear bush on this vectra but the VOSA chap said it should have failed on this. The NT failed the car on 2 rear shockers which the VOSA chap said were a advise not fail. Anyway I have now had a letter from VOSA telling me that as the AE I have been given 50 points! I have 15 days to appeal. Any pointers?
The NT accepted that he missed the bush but did not agree with the verdict on the shockers.
We are a small testing station with a low through put, average 10 tests a week so no pressure on the NT to do the test quickly. Ive never had problems with the VOSA chap and have to say that he is a very fair man though the points do sting
