Just to let people know, because of my good track record and the credit points awarded i was given a 5 year formal warning.
I can now put this mishap well and truly behind me and focus on the future.
Thanks to some who gave there support and kind words.

Sorry to hear of your experiences with VOSA, but unfortunately that is their job, and if testers miss items which are more serious to road safety then people's lives could be at risk.
VOSA will always tell a tester that the correct test methods are to follow the routine in the manual, take your time and assess all testable items, the older the vehicle the longer it will take, the newer the vehicle the easier the test, but that does not mean one does not have to look or skimp it. My experience has show that VOSA look at the statistics, ie how many tests a tester does in what time period, if you are continually doing FAST MOT TESTING, then your in for TARGET, and all they have to do is put a vehicle in with some slight defects and your nicked?
VOSA don't have off days, they work relaxed, so testers should do the same, this may sound hard because money has to be made, but untimately its your license and livelhood if your loose it?
Contact a good Consultant if you get the Contemplated Withdrawel letter

yep its just unfortunate that day i was dealt the wrong card and may cost me my livelyhood. I knwo it was a big mistake and i know it was foolish to go into work under the circumstances and i know i will be punished severely, but i wouldnt knock anyone down that far for having an off day.
If one was being reported all the time and had a bad record fair enough and yes i did get it wrong that day but to take someones livelyhood away for one day out of 8 years is very extreme in my eyes. No ones perfect and you cant tell me you dont have off days? come on .

You could always get in touch with a consultant - they are used to dealing with these issues and are often in a good position to advise on the best course.

Its so unfair the way its presented (its like entrapment) and if a guy hasnt been in trouble before then i think its a little over the top, a more suitable punishment would have been some further training, being a caring and helpful team towards testers?. None of us are perfect, no one suspends the damn prime minister everytime he makes mistakes and i guess all the vosa team are safe in there jobs.
PS. Can i check on the mot computer if i have any credit and would this rid the cessation if it dropped below the 100 points, sorry guys but its looking like xmas is gonna be sh*** cus all ill do now is worry and get depressed.
I did have a visit not too long ago by 2 vosa men who tested a car ide just done and that went fine, no problems.
Hi mate,
Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but Nicknack is Right!
If the "Said Vehicle" Was involved in a "Fatac"!
How Would You feel, Having Now Knowingly Passed It? And Lives Were Lost or Wrecked, Disabilities etc Incurred because of "Your" "Off Day"?
No Excuses!
Wes.

They don't wreck lives, they were just doing their job, checking if you were doing yours, and you got it wrong.

The other factor was it was an 05 plate and we all get lapsidazical in our work, i dont know why but this was the only car ever ive not firstly checked the washers, why i didnt god only know but if i did then i probably would have smelled a rat and found the others they planted but i didnt, now it looks like it could cost me my livelihood

The points need to be below 50 realy. How on earth could you have missed the induced defects?

You have read it correctly, it can be reduced dependant on your history, credits for satisfactory incogs and the like.

True Bro!
Only trying to assist. lol, No Stress here, only fresh air and cow sh*te.
Had a 55 plate Navara in recently, low service and parking brake readings NSR, Gear Oil contamination on backplate.
Probably one of the reasons why VOSA and Government have pulled the plug on the 4-2-2 proposal.
Laters, Wes.
