one of our testers just after computerisation ballsed it it up big time,530 points.vosa was obviously looking at shutting the place but as the idjit concerned had done something that we couldnt have known about they left us open so it does depend on the circumstances to a large extent.still means that we had 5yrs of walking on eggshells with vosa ahead of us...only 2 years to go and counting!

Ok it seems that i have failed to get the point of the question over clearly. :D

I have never got points and do not intend to either.

First off all this is hypothetical, the reson is after i have a QC done i am always given a speech about if "I" as a tester do something wrong "WE" as a mot testing site will lose the right to carry out MOT Tests.

what i'm asking is what is the relationship between the two? as i have looked at the flow charts and cant like it all together.

is it possible that "I" as a tester can accumulate enough points for the site "WE" to lose the right to carry out MOT Tests.

Hope this clears it up a bit.

Hi anno,

The QC is meant to have a general discussion about any part of the test that you might feel would require a second opinion on.;)

Its not meant to be an opportuinty for "them" the site to keep on preaching.

The QC in his authorative hat should always be available for any tester to approach for that second opinion at any time, and should obviously be an experienced tester.

Seems to me that by what you are saying, in afew years time you will have exceeded his role and progressed to SM.;)

Regards, Wes.

Yes as a tester you can "rack up" points to lose the MOT license....Depends on how serious your "oversight" etc is.....I recall a few years back(on manual tickets)."A" tester produced a cert. in "B" testers name & signature..."B" tester complained to VI in those days and the "Garage" lost it's licence for 5 years...."B" tester kept his but obviously had to find alternative employment (only to keep his mot license)...."A" tester got the SACK.........

Yeah thought so...But i was wondering if i had missed a SN..?...

Thats why I asked the Q' about pressure...We need to remember that "sadly" some Nt's are "young guys" or "under pressure" from their management,so they do not have the confidence-experience to "assert their position"....

Who holds "the ACE card guys"............;)........YOU...With Vosa on yer shoulder..

sorry if this is coverd some where else but i need to know.

Where i work i am for ever being told that if i get points from vosa my AE also gets those points, i.e in a worst case if i lose my mot license, my place of work will lose it to? i work in a multi workshop company, as in we have many diffrent places all over the south.

so what im asking is how does it all work? iv read the guide and its not clear to me what happens in the event of me as a tester getting points?

Does it effect my AE?

how bad would I have to be for the company i work for to lose their license too?

Follow the flow charts for NT and AE then do a comparison. You don't come across as though you are giving the mot scheme PMA to your job?

PMA???...Anyone....

Ok I didn't want to spell it out because the moderators might think I am being off or the tester may take it the wrong way, but i mean no offence:). PMA stands for "Positive mental attitute" towards the job of course:D
