Had my first proper ride out of the year today - I remember why it's important to have mirrors - especially with a bike that does 85 mph......................................

I like to know what's behind me too when out on my bike.
That's why I use my mirrors, but mainly I turn around to see what's going on. Call me old fashioned but if your mirror is clear it doesn't mean there's nothing behind you!

I always like a mirror as you never know who is behind you, call it paranoia, but when you have a socially incorrect number of wheels you need to be on your toes.

Mirrors are not part of MOT. Test.
As far as I know they are not a legal requirement either.
I always look behind me anyway as you cant see much through a bike mirror.

It's a personal view but I feel that on bikes, it is not always neccessary, and that in most cases looking behind is enough.
As you don't need mirrors for an MOT can the Police challenge you about it if they stop you?

| Do you have to have motorcycle mirrors fitted on a newish road bike please, and if so do they have to be a certain size?. I keep hearing different answers to this question. Thanks
