We have an ATL 2 years old Tecalemite ramp and brake tester Crypton gas and emmission tester The equipment is rubbish. Brake tester replaced Crypton breaks down and they can not fix it. All from Unipart.

fortunatley the fail is listed as load sensing valve linkage siezed and not the valve, I think they meant the vale but that didn't get printed that way so on an atl you can check for the likage by prying it and if it moves you are ok as ther is no fail for the valve. That would be a good question for the next refresher.

How do we check a load sensing valve using a standard test lane?

What can we fail it on?

Have been using bradbury A T L for the last 18months,so far so good,only problems i have had are a leaking pipe and a sensor on the brake tester. Once you get used to it and get into a routine it is really easy to use.

we have had one for about 3-4 months and i must say the only thing ive found is the shaker plates dont pick up worn rod ends or lower ball joints very well still seems better to use a lever bar!

hi, i have been looking at the rav atl, on the brake tester it says it can test 4 wheel drive because of counter rotating motors etc.

is this true?

Hope the disruption is worth the effort.  I studied this at the equipment show.  Seems to be poorly thought through.  At some stage you will have to partially lower the hoist, remove the pedal device, check the wheel bearings.  Not too bad, but then you need to lower the hoist fully, move the car from the detectors to the turning plates and raise the car again.  Hardly "automated".

I like the detectors but would still use an assistant until this problem is solved.  Mark 2 detectors will surely be combined with turning plates, or turning plates will slide on to them.  I will wait for improvements.

Our ATL is due to be fitted in 4 weeks time. Really can`t wait as fed up of being dragged off jobs to sit in cars for MOTs. (Only 2 of us work here) Hope it works out a worthwhile investment. Will have to be closed for 2 weeks as all our holes in floor are in the wrong place and most of workshop floor will have to be replaced. I`ll let you know how it all goes.
