hi got a few now that fail the on black smoke the last 3 we fully service them and add fuel emission lowering in fuel filter and some in tank then hold a rag over exhaust and rev it up this does move some of the sut in older cars and vans then we road test it in 3 gear come back and test the emission again and most times it does pass if you have any tips please let us all know .![]()

make sure you refill the additive oil(if fitted)they run dry about 80/90k,ok so they only operate when the fuel caps opened but would be a real quick way of f***ing a new dpf

nuffin strange about it,by and large theyre builders wagons, most builders work different sites/areas/people all the time and I should imagine this particular cheat went thru that community like prune juice thru a short grandma

im seeing a surprising number of transits with similar plate damage,for some reason the gvw is always unaffected,must be a manufacturing fault![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

oil change, change the blocked air filter,clean/empty 200k of oil seepage outta the intercooler system(brake cleaner or thinners as an aerosol shifts quite a lotta carbon/s**te outta the inlet but be VERY careful to use small quantities in short bursts to avoid the engine revving to s**teitself point!) then thrash the nads out of it,still borderline on retest.be the same story next year, the year after etc etc etc

an 03 focus I failed a couple of weeks back tried an inlet cleaning system that uses some sorta acid fluid that appeared to work ish, still smoked like f*** for the first 2 revs then came down to somewhere near its plate value,1.4 I think.wonder if telling these folks to obliterate their plate value prior to test would be considered to be bringing the scheme into disrepute?its legal(at least so far)and would save everyone involved a lotta hassle
