 The condition of the spare wheel/tyre itself is not testable. However if it's insecurely mounted in it's carrier and likely to fall out on the road then it'll fail.

The spare tyre is not an item that should be Tested as part of an MOT Test. However it would be imprudent to run a vehicle with a faulty spare tyre as it would be driven illegally should you have to use the spare in the event of having a puncture.

I have just been looking at your site on MOT quiz answers, and I have just recently had my MOT and they have replaced my spare tyre. Could you please clarify if this is a MOT check or not Allana Burgess
