Been reading along with this thread with interest and some good points made. I heard on the grapevine today that 4 manufacturers of certain socket testers don't work on Mercedes and various other cars. Does anyone have experience of this? Last edited on Wed Feb 8th, 2012 03:29 pm by Wes Attwell |

They are less than 50 at some motor factors. Last edited on Fri Aug 19th, 2011 05:43 pm by KevG |

£50 seems pretty reasonable. Think I'll go for that as they have a good reputation in the trade. Cheers. ![]() |

Hi Guys Just picked up this thread about the 13 to 7 pin adapters, please be aware that the body of the 13 pin male socket is rotated to allow an adapter to be fitted, I have never seen a permanent female 13 to 7 pin mod' on a vehicle. Hi, As a specialist in the towing electrics industry, We have just launched an MOT tester which is now all VOSA approved. We have designed and developed this based on our expertise as specialists in towing electrics. It is equipped with switches to test the trailer flasher failure functions which others do not have. We decided to include this because this is required by UK law and although not part of MOT requirements it still remains linked with the law. maybe worth a look and let us know. see pic |

Hi I have seen an mot vosa approved version 13 pin socket tester for testing these new euro sockets. they also do the converter to be able to test the older style 7 pin sockets Its around £50 so not bad value... this is the link there is also instructions how to use the tool and a video of the tool in use. VOSA say they had no choice on the 13 pin socket testing. Following orders from our European masters Last edited on Mon Aug 22nd, 2011 01:29 pm by |

Hi Guys, Just joined the forum and was looking at 13 pin testers and wondered if any of you have used Boston before? We run a caravan maintenance firm and have been looking at getting one ahead of schedule of the date in 2012. They look pretty good, but not sure I want to be paying for a brand name, rather than the tool!! ![]() Last edited on Thu Oct 13th, 2011 04:28 pm by |

although VOSA are still deciding which socket testers to approve i would think it is going to be something like the one in this link at £100+ especially once it's got their little sticker on it. Last edited on Thu Oct 13th, 2011 04:26 pm by |
