From the picture I agree that it'll likely be an advisory - Have to let us know how it goes.

If you want a cheap repair before MOT find yourself a local motorcycle shop. Look for some Oxford clear adhesive tape. It comes in a decent sized roll and is a good thickness & will cover the lens to prevent any sharp edges and keep the water out.

From your photos it appears to be ok as far as MOT requirements go, although there are some members who think that using the word 'appears' is treading on dodgy ground.

I can't see a problem, worse it would be is an "advise". I had one a few weeks back in a much worse state and the local VE (inspector) walked in just as I passed it and went all over the vehicle again. He rubbed his hand on the broken lens to see if it was a sharp edge. The fact that he did, proved it was OK.

Hi all,

I have the MOT next week and the car's got (at least) one problem:

The plastic cover of the right back lights is damaged. I think the damage does not affect light visibility. Also, it was in that state when I got the car, and it had recently pass MOT, so I'm hoping it's not a big problem.

You can see the damage here:

Do you think this will fail the test?

Thank you,
Eloy
