At the end he uses the same pliers as mine, as he says they give a tighter crimp when the centre section rises. ![]() |

Thanks for the reply. There is a video here that demonstrates how similar pliers should really work: https://youtu.be/7wEU0JZzac4 The centre section on my pliers doesn't really move outwards very much. I am considering sending my CV boot pliers back to the company I bought them from and getting a refund or an exchange. |

I just had a look at mine in comparison to yours, the difference is between them that your centre section is on the outside of the tool and mine is on the inside, however this should not make a difference to the operation, where mine pushes upwards as the tool jaws close and lower as the jaws open. If I have got the understanding correct, its seems that the centre section pushes upwards against the clip when clamping it into position to ensure that the clip is seated correctly when compressed together. Hope that makes sense ![]() |

Hi Please can anyone tell from this video if my CV boot pliers are working properly? The centre section on mine doesn't move outwards. Is the centre section supposed to move outwards when the pliers are closed? https://youtu.be/2ezq1nucncE Last edited on Sun Nov 29th, 2015 12:09 pm by Beach1979 |
