up till a couple of years back the guidance from the mot system(when we still got any!)was along the lines of they have play that varies from side to side,vehicle to vehicle,tough s**t,pass it.shouldnt be a problem.

Hi. Play in the strut top mounts on a CorsaD is normal.
I'd be more worried if there was no play on that vehicle.
It's a pass!

Hi, Apologise if this has been asked before - I have searched before posting but cannot find anything, but may have missed the obvious. Today while replacing brake pads on my daughters 2013 Corsa, which is coming close to it's MOT, I checked while the wheel was off the floor to see if there was any wear in the front wheel bearing, the bearing was fine but I noticed a lot of movement from the top of the suspension strut where it is bolted to the body. Once the car was lowered to the floor it was solid with no sign of any play.
Is this acceptable if presented like this.
I have searched on Google and on the Corsa D website and there seems to be some conflicting advice - so would prefer any advice from people in the know on this site.
