If I take it to another garage will they know what the car has failed on, i.e. Will this be logged on a system or would they do a fresh test??

I'd be tempted to get a second opinion on this. It's unusual to need a rack for a slightly leaky power steering system. And two brake hoses bulging is unusual but not unheard of. I'd take it somewhere else for a second opinion I think.

Hi, its a VW golf cabriolet, haven't put any power steering fluid in since I bought it 2 years ago and it doesn't appear to have gone down much. Yes used this garage for last years MOT and they passed it with no work.

Hi. What make and model of car is it? Have you been putting a lot of power steering fluid in the car? Have you used this garage before?

Just had MOT and it failed due to many things, I need the steering rack replaced, one shock absorber, brake hose, suspension arm, wipers and wheel bearing kit. All in all they have quoted me £800.00 to do the work, does this sound about right or am I being ripped off? Thanks for reading ![]()
