as castrolrob suggests...evidence from manufacturer as with regards to what should be in it and test it to the vehicles age.
im sure the police and insurance for that matter would be interested if it hasnt been declared as different lol

the crystal balls a bit foggy this morning,i assume were talking about a citroen or Peugeot of some sort,what age/spec is the basic car?ditto for the engine.

It should have a tu3 engine but has a tu5j4 engine. So it's went from a 1.0 8v to a 1.6 16v

it gets tested as is to the relevant limits for the year of the car,if you want it to go thru a lesser limit(non cat for example)YOU need to provide documentary evidence of the engine type/year from the vehicle/engine manufacturer or similar,if its obviously the wrong engine but passes I personally would advise its been modified but that's up to the individual teater.without details of what you got its a bit difficult to get any closer than that.
