Thx for your reply.

So scooter/moped engines are 'stressed members' of the structure?
This doesn't directly bear any weight its just where the bracket which holds the front of the engine to the frame connects.
The riders weight bears down just behind the rear wheel where the suspension struts are.

If this is repaired by welding & re-tapping will it pass?

I've added a side view pic.

Looks like a fail.

Structural members and components includes engine mountings, where the engine is a stressed member of the structure.

Reason for faure being:Any insecurity of structural members or components to the extent that control of the machine is likely to be adversely affected.

Hi,

The picture shows one of 4 bolt holes on the engine casing which the engine mount (front of engine to frame) screws to on a Yamaha Majesty 125 engine.

It is chipped and the original bolt just turns.

A longer bolt tightens ok. The other 3 bolts of the mount are all ok.

This scooter engine is also connected at the rear to the frame by two shock absorbers.

Is this damaged engine casing bolt hole an MOT pass or fail?

Thanks,

Mark
