Hi & welcome to the Forum.

The insurance company will be using the MOT inspection as an indication that the bike has been put back to a roadworthy condition. Once the MOT expires you do not need to renew again until the bike reaches 3 years from first registration.

My son's 2018 Honda PCX 125 has been written off as cat N.
It's only cosmetic damage and he wants to put it back on the road. The insurance company have said they want to see an MOT before they will continue his insurance. Will he need to get a new MOT next year when this one runs out as the bike will still be less than 3 years old?
