Cheers Pass with Advise.. No testing advice available & based on a reliable source am advising brake lights not going off as soon as the pedal is released.

"Drive off assistant" on the flat.. read someone had problems driving their BMW into the garage cause the brakes kept applying. https://www.bmw.com/video/is/content/BMW/bmwcom/bmw_com/category/innovation/driver-assistance-systems/driver-assistance-systems-02-hill-start-assist.mp4 Benefits: This driver assistance system is certainly not indispensable for the safe operation of a vehicle as with sufficient experience you can avoid tricky situations yourself. The assistance system can nevertheless make starting on extreme gradients, or with an additional trailing load, more pleasant. Sorry kjds Suffolk you shud of failed it. ![]()

When one engages their main beams it is assumed that the foggy conditions have sufficiently abated as to no longer require the use of the rear fog lamps hence they are turned off.. nothing adverse about that.. All stop lamps must light up immediately when the brake is applied and switch off immediately when the brake is released. If you got to select a gear and move the motor to get the brake lights to switch off.. bit of a contradiction isnt it? Hence the need for advice. Paul S wrote:Welcome to the forum kjds A bit like rear fog lamps that go out when main beam is selected?? No testing advice on that, but a design feature of numerous vehicles speaking from experience. Could well be a feature of "hill hold" BMW call it "Drive off assistant"
